Cobra with Mercedes V12

This is pretty bad-ass: Cobra with Mercedes V12.

If my car sounded like that I would never stop smiling. That sound is magnificent!

Love it, the sound is intoxicating!

Mercedes makes the most V12's in the world and some of the best.

Pretty cool. You usually don't see a positive displacement supercharger utilizing an air to air intercooler. Most have the intercooler mounted directly under the blower and plumb the water lines to the heat exchanger. That's why you see all the plumbing running everywhere.

Color me skeptical. Seems one would need to be careful not to pile it up owing to too much torque and hp for the weight. The V12 is a cool motor though. I'd rather just have it in a Mercedes.

How to hear the sound?

I cannot see how this setup would ace a side oiler ford as installed in the original cobra 427's. 500 hp would probably be pretty available without resorting to a blower.

Hmm, have you not looked at an SLK. Sounds like you're talking about trucks.

I'm a little disappointed. V12 and 492 RWHP with the supercharger? 6L I believe is the displacement?

Handling would suffer with more power. With all the carbon fiber the chassis weight is probably around 2000 pound, 492 RWHP would be more than sufficient I would think.

True but still, I would expect more of the motor itself than that. My naturally aspirated 383 makes 410 at the wheels

I dunno, I think the V12 with stock hp would turn a cobra into a serious rocket. If the Mercedes S600 can do quarters in the 12 second range with the AC going, I'm thinking that motor would move a 2000 lb vehicle rather handily.

Of course that particular car may have twin turbos stock, not sure.
