So who are the brain-dead morons in the 16%?

His poll numbers put him in fourth place with 16% of the vote.

I guess those 16% are even dumber than Weiner.

Americans are way too fascinated with personal lives of politicians. This should be between him and his wife, not public.

Agreed. When I'm getting ready to vote, I'm interested in someone who will effectively push legislation I want, and suppress legislation that I don't want. Whether said individual cheats on his/her wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend/sheep/goat/camel is of very little importance to me.

So then..... you and Speed are saying that if someone is so untrustworthy that they cheat on their wife, you trust them to do what they say they will do?

Sorry, I'm not that gullible. If someone is willing to cheat on the most solemn oath of their lives, their wedding vows, they can't be trusted with ANYTHING.

I don't CARE what they do behind closed doors, but when I am voting on which person to hire for a taxpayer funded job, I'm looking for someone trustworthy. Of course, I can't imagine any of them actually BEING trustworthy, but that is what we all should be trying to achieve when voting and hiring.

I have been around too many of these guys to get excited over this anymore.

When they are among friends, like a bunch of oil executives, they all tend to let their hair down.

And from I have seen it matters not what the political party is. The more they carry on against this sort of thing in public the more they carry on with their private lives in private.

But to me if you are careless enough to let it slip out then you are not smart enough to understand that there is a long line of folks that are eager to use you for their own ends.

Hmm.

They could have kept this all secret, behind closed doors, you never would have known any better. You could have voted for him believing that he could be trusted all the while he would have been cheating on his wife, etc.

Often times what people do to themselves and what people do for others are dramatically different. Weiner might not care about his relationship with his wife but he may care about his constituency and their needs.

Uh huh.

You're right. IF they had kept it all secret, we would have never known. The fact, however, is that it is NO LONGER secret. Now that the world knows that he is willing to cheat on his wife, only the saps are left to vote for him. People who value honesty will not.

BTW, this does indeed go on among people of all parties.

The search for the squeaky clean candidate and honest politician goes on . . .

We are not electing saints to govern us. We are electing mortal men and women much like ourselves. If we could only elect those who have not sinned, we would have a congress full of newborns (though sometimes that's what it sounds like). In the case of those who have been previously elected, people may judge them by their past votes and other efforts. Perhaps he has been very good at voting the will of the people. As to the rest:
KJV John 8:7
me, my sins may be different, but I am not blameless.
(sorry if that comes off as pompous, I don't mean for it to be )
