Just got off the phone.

Original owner, unmolested daily driver complete with it's line setting ticket

wish it was a stepside but I can live with that. Owner's on grand jury duty and doesn't have time to show it but when he does I'm first in line...

You could make a little money with that one.

I've owned several and have a completely irrational obsession with them. It's unlikely I'd make any money, but I bet I'd spend a pile.

Natch.

My kid's Subie has taken a dump and he has a woody for my 93 Toyota. Thinking i might pick the IH up and "sell" (read: indentured servitude) him the Toy. If this harvester proves to be the truck the owner says it is I could use it for pretty much the same local tasks I use the toyota for. Driving the fence lines, getting feed etc. Plus it'd pull stumps a whole lot better than the 22RE and it has power steering. Every time I get in a tight spot with that Toyota I am amazed that as late as 1993 power steering was an option

I pulled a 266 V-8 from an identical truck to put in my 65 Travelall Ambulance back in 81. Then we drove it across country full of all our worldly possessions while pulling our 68 Camaro.

Power steering and anything else remotely approaching a luxury/convenience item was always an option on Japanese and even most European vehicles outside the US. They were cheap for a reason.

Now that is a cool truck. My Dad had a 76 Scout II until I was about 15 or so when he scrapped it because it had rusted away. Too bad since it was a beast.

Those were tough old trucks. I had a '74 with the 345 engine, it couldn't pass anything, not even a gas station. At 7.5 MPG and a 16 gallon tank during the gas crises of the '70's, it definitely wasn't a long-distance traveler. Hopefully your pre-emissions example will still be a good runner.

In the vein of the mileage statement I'd like to point out the aptness of one of the stated features of the truck. The "duel gas tanks"!

Yup,them old "Binders" were never known for their mileage, they were made as work trucks and boy, howdie, they sure were good at it. I might have missed it and it may not matter to you but was it a manual (most likely being 4 wheel drive and a '67)?

Needs "interior"? What, another coat of house paint on the metal panels? I don't remember a whole lot of "interior" on any of the IH's I drove. Throw on another horse blanket to cover the springs when the old blanket wore thin was all the interior we needed. Tape another piece of plexi-glass over the wing window when the old one got scratched to opaqueness, ever' now and then get a different board to hold up the window when the old one warped.

There is an elderly man that drives one of those around town, he is so small that he can barely see over the steering wheel.

I don't have it yet. The old guy doesn't seem to want to let go of it. He keeps making excuses about needing to "tune it up and get it running". I check with him weekly. Last Monday when I stopped by his place he got all dreamy talking about all the Colorado, Utah and AZ elk he brought home with it, how many times it saved his life in blizzards, deep mud, sandstorms... The picture I'm getting is that his wife wants it gone, him not so much...
