I just bought SWMBO an '89 535i to backup her 380 SL and sent her a similar article . Her reaction:

"Our car too old to behave badly
Sent from my LG phone"

Forget the cars, as far as I'm concerned the worst road rage areas are as follows:

1. Washington, D.C. What a bunch of pricks. Perhaps they are pissed off because they live in the number one federal district. who knows? All I know is that if you were lying passed out on the side of the road, they would not hesitate to run you over.

2. New Jersey tollway. They drive between 90 and 100 MPH while giving you the middle finger salute. And god help you if your car develops mechanical problems. They will scream at you as if the fact that your car is broke down has just caused the death of their mother. Jerks.

3. Connecticut is another problem area. Hartford being some of the worst drivers on planet earth. They drive as though they have a death wish. Maybe they do.

What I noticed living on the east side in Los Angeles now and working in Hollywood and Santa Monica/Venice; the closer you get towards Santa Monica the more road rage you will encounter. The more affluent the neighborhood, the ruder the drivers become. Especially Santa Monica is very bad.

Hartford is several times better than Philly. If you think hartford drivers are bad, don't even think about coming to Philly...lived and driven daily both for years.

Around here its a BMW with NJ plates...nothing good comes out of that combo. They will cut you off, slam on the brakes, or do something dangerous.

MA drivers are the worst, but NJ drivers with BMW's are very aggressive.

I practice defensive driving. You want to get pushy? I show you my bull bar on the front & long tow bar tongue on the back.
My comment to those who get pushy ~ The closer you get, the slower I go!
