I feel the good for nothing little rat should be given a full metal jacket 9mm to the back of the skull, and his lawyer should be charged the bill for it.

The info leaked got soldiers killed. What a worthless POS.
I understand the politics of leaking secrets, but his actions put good men in their graves.

I think he should have got some jail time, since he was more of an equal-opportunity leaker than Snowden (who leaked about a specific and very possibly illegal program). 35 years? Excessive. But I was reading that with the way military sentencing works, he might be out in 8-10 years if he behaves himself.

I think it’s scary what information the gov't deems to be a "threat to national security". This is a very ambiguous term that covers anything from war crimes such as avoidable civilian deaths, all the way to the recently revealed NSA shenanigans.

If this happened during WWII, maybe even during Vietnam, he would have stood in front of a firing squad as he deserves.

Exclamation Holy Pink Panties Batman!!!!

Now he wants to live as a woman.
I guess he figures his sentence will be easier time if he's a "woman" So, does that mean the taxpayers have to pay for a sex change operation in prison?

Ever wonder why all the psych problems surface during a trial? If nobody gave a damn and told them to get treatment AFTER punishment or even during and no mitigation would be given, think the mindfawks would have as much business?

Manning had plenty of "counseling" after his arrest.
Manning Takes Stand, Apologizes for Hurting US | Military.com

"Manning's attorneys contend he showed clear signs of deteriorating mental health before and during his deployment that should have prevented commanders from sending him to a war zone to handle classified information.

Manning eventually came out to Capt. Michael Worsley, emailing the clinical psychologist a photo of himself in a long, blond wig and lipstick. The photo was attached to a letter titled "My problem," in which Manning described his internal struggle and said he had hoped that a military career would "get rid of it."

Worsley testified Wednesday that the soldier was struggling under extreme conditions.

"You put him in that kind of hyper-masculine environment, if you will, with little support and few coping skills, the pressure would have been difficult to say the least," Worsley said.

Worsley's testimony portrayed some military leaders as lax at best and obstructionist at worst when it came to tending to soldiers with mental health problems.

"I questioned why they would want to leave somebody in a position with the issue they had," Worsley said.

Navy Capt. David Moulton, a psychiatrist who spent 21 hours interviewing Manning at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., after his arrest, testified as a defense witness that Manning's gender identity disorder, combined with narcissistic personality traits, idealism and his lack of friends in Iraq, caused him to conclude he could change the world by leaking classified information."

All very fascinating but if none of that could potentially get him mitigation, do you think it would have even been brought up? That is the reason for the mindfawks. To get them mitigation for their crimes.

I killed 20 people. Sorry. Mea Culpa. I had a bad childhood, daddy beat me often, Mommy didn't love me enough, Bro and Sis bullied me...... So give me a break.

I suppose you would prescribe a similar remedy for that pest Snowden?

As a non-American, why the purple fawk would Assange have the obligation to keep US secrets? He's not a US citizen, not a US resident, not under US military law, and not selling them to a foreign power. He's publishing them, which may or may not go against the laws of his home country, but as an unaffiliated party, he owes the US *no* loyalty or respect whatsoever.

But yeah, that's the totalitarian way. Murder people who embarrass your country. Ever heard of Georgi Markov? How about Leon Trotsky? You really want us to stoop to the level of the former USSR?
