210 4-matic
Can anyone tell me why the 210 4-matic is not affected by the spring perch issue? I mean they still have springs on the front don't they and they are still held on with perches are they not? Or am I missing something here?

From the claim that 4-matic 210's don't have spring perch failures because of something to do with the McPherson struts. Don't see what that has to do with it. If the perch is there surely it can still fail?

Because they don't have spring perches.

So they don't have front springs. Really? I've tried finding photos of the front suspension set up on them but no luck. I guess I'll have to scope one out in the flesh.

Sorry for the confusing post.

The 4-Matic 210 has a different perch setup to accommodate the coil-over-shock suspension. I'm not sure exactly why the 4-Matic's don't have the same rust issues as the rear drive 210's. Maybe MB used additional/different rust prevention measures on the all-wheel drive 210's? Anyhow, sorry for the confusion.

So the 4-matic does have them. Something must be different then if they are not failing. Or maybe they will just take longer to fail.
