Vasectomy would have sufficed.

In evolutionary terms, this guy kicks Einstein's butt.

Radio lab and the offspring of one man: "By looking at our genes we can link ourselves to our parents, grandparents, and ancestors long long ago. Tatiana Zerjal and Chris Tyler Smith tell the tale of discovering the genetic relation of over 16 million men in Central Asia."

A guy I worked with years ago recently died. He has 32 children from 8 different wives. He is latino. His most recent wife is Navajo and their youngest is about 6 years old now. His other ex wives are Hopi, anglo and latina. He was about 77 or 78 when he passed peacefully. All his ex-wives, who are friends, attended his funeral along with all his kids and grandkids. All of this fellow's wives divorced him for the same reason; he wanted more kids than they were willing to have. I don't know all his offspring but the ones I do know are all successful and well educated. Several doctors, one owns a car dealership, one attorney, a bunch of teachers. All the legacy of a man who drove a school bus for 38 years.

It takes two to tango. I bet if the women didn't get a check for each kid, they wouldn't have so many.

Would you argue that the above outcome is common?

Absolutely not. I'd argue that lots of people shouldn't have had the one or two kids they did have.

That's true. And the thing with multiple kids in the first post should have been forcibly sterilized at birth. Or better still, aborted. Actually, preferably never even conceived.

You will find a hundred to one the exact opposite. An unproductive bunch, drain on society all the fault of irresponsible breeding (Blaming both the male and female)
