Home theater system...

I was over at my buddies house a couple of weeks ago and his dad just put the finishing touches on his home theater downstairs. The subs alone were $30k! The wires going to them look like snakes.

Anyway, so my buddy is like do you want to try it out, I said of course, with the right song!

Rammstein - Sonne - YouTube

Nothing like German metal to heat up a new system and break some high end subs in!

Good choice. Though I think I'd have gone for "Links zwo drei vier" myself.

Exactly.

$30K for a speaker..........you'd have to be a complete idiot.

I'd rather have them spend it on speakers and fast cars than paying investments. Eedjits like that reduce competition, so I'm all for it.

I'm so provincial.

I have a flat screen 42" screen and I think I'm in heaven!

Like I always say...."I can buy anything I want....I'm just careful what I want!"

I was thinking similarly. I wouldn't spend 30k on a car let alone a speaker. Still if you have money to waste I guess it your money. Still think Rammstein was a good choice.

. . . on the other hand, I recently stopped by a high end audio visual boutique here (Mac and Linn dealer) . . . listened to a digital recording of Diana Krall, closed my eyes and the audio staging was so good, it was like the recording session was five feet in front of me.

It is an actual theater, just smaller, only 6 seats. Room is sound proofed and everything, they had it set up, the subs were the final touch.

I know nothing about speakers, but he is into guitars and has a bunch of pretty nice ones, and a mixing board. He likes to play a lot.

I like watching Walking Dead down their with my buddy because the picture and sound are so good, Act of Valor sounds and looks very good on it as well.

No idea on the brand, I'll have to ask I'm not really into electronics.

Heck, would have still had enough for a slammed Honda with a pair of 18" subs in the trunk....
