I still think the first season was the best. The third season just arrived on Netflix and I quit my illegal activities on the net halfway season three and became a good interweb citizen, so now I can finally finish it.

Don't know about the show you're talking about, but I've never been a revolver fan.

After spending a few days at the range with a member of the pistol team while I was in the Army, going through almost 1,000 rounds both days with a .45, I've been queer for them ever since. I qualified Marksman with a .45 before all that shooting and requalified Expert after all that experience. One of them in my hand is operated with pure reflex, so I never saw a reason to change.

I've only fired a revolver a few different times since then.

This is nothing against revolvers or those who prefer them. It's just my personal preference.

Rick's Python is way cool but I'm always afraid he's going to lose it out of that floppy holster.
I shoot 1911 in IDPA meets too and guess I overall prefer semi-auto, but I have and shoot quite a few wheel guns. Love my Smiths and Blackhawks.

There's nothing like the romance that a wheelgun brings. The fit, the finish, the feel...all is lost with the use of a slide.

We're counting down the time for the next season to start.

I definitely agree. There is definitely lots of history tied to them and holding a finely crafted revolver in your hand definitely makes one appreciate the craftsmanship that went into it. I think they're great, it's just that my personal preference for shooting lies with the good ol' .45. Personal preference and nothing more.

Great show. Burned through the first 2 seasons on Netflix in a couple of weeks and then the 3rd season in 2 days :).

I had the chance to buy a Python but at $2k I finished my AR instead. They are pricey, I think I'll pick one up at some point.

I have two S and W's in .357; a 586 no dash and a newer 686 with 6 inch bbl. I don't own a Python but have shot a few and they are invariably swell. Glassy smooth actions.
After a bit of smith work, the Smiths are easily equal to the Python IMO and don't bear the heavy Colt name price. A brand new SW Performance Center 686 Competition model with a 6 inch weighted bbl has all the custom smith work already done and lists for 1389. Doesn't say "Colt" anywhere on it, saving you a grand.

I like the looks of the standard barrel better, so I'd just buy a regular 686 and have them polish up the action a bit.

What I really want is a SSA with a 7.5 in barrel in .45LC, done up in nickle. Ordering one from Colt is a process though.

The plain bbl does look a lot cleaner. Nice thing about the weighted one for a reloader is you can tweak bbl weight to correspond to different loads. If I run into a good price on one it'll be hard to say no. Their performance center pieces are great bang for buck.
You ought to think about reloading if you're looking at .45 Colt. I can reload for my Vaquero for about 6 dollars a box of 50.
