Y'All Get Off My Lawn! Millennials and Generation Y

Seems like these two newly-coined terms, "Millennials" and "Generation Y", are setting the internet ablaze. They refer to the (currently) young people born between the early 1980's and the early 2000's. They are usually portrayed as entitled, narcissistic, media-obsessed and self-absorbed. Here's a more detailed description on Wikipedia.

What are your thoughts? Are Millennials like the media portrays them to be?

I love how the term so broadly encapsulates anyone from the age of about 33 to 10. Its always hilarious to see old timers harumph about and reminisce about the good ol' days.

According to the test that was posted on here a few weeks ago, I was like 90% millennial.

I'm confused on what exactly a millennial is in terms of traits - different sites seem to have differing opinions.

I'm an old timer and I never harumph. I never learned how...

In my experience, NOBODY is how the media portrays them. From Aztecs to Zoroastrians.

Indeed.

IMO, it is one of the most overused and vague terms.
