I'm mostly kidding of course, although I did get salty reading it. Beautiful story. My current numb nut...err...dog have recently started a similar routine. Leisurely early Sunday morning ride through the meadows, quick visit with the guys at the game club, pick up coffee for myself and the Mrs. and a couple donut holes for him (I know, not the best thing for a dog but he likes them and he only gets two).

Not having grown up as a dog person, our last dog and I had a love-hate relationship for his first 8 years and grew pretty close for his last 7. I wanted to be sure not to repeat that same mistake.

Yup. I lost my 13 year old chihuahua this year. That really sucked.

We lost our 16 year old mini dachshund late last year, too.

It was devastating. That dog was more human than dog.

We've gotten over the sadness, but I think I'll always miss her.
