What is the problem officer?

You gotta love the ingenuity.;)

hahahaha

If this guy is like anyone else who rents uhaul trailers, that vehicle on the trailer is a toyota tercel 2 door, you just have to squint to see it.

though this abuse is pretty amazing. looks like the car trailer is bending down in the back. Think of the force this is putting on the 2 inch ball hitch connection to the box truck. what a bonehead

I have tried a few crazy things but this tops all I have done by a good margin!;)

The Tercel is behind the camper on a tow bar....

same here.

This tops an old boss of mine towing a double axle camper behind an excursion, and welding a hitch to the back of the camper to tow a double axle flatbed trailer. I thought that was surpassingly stupid for the weight and sway issues, but at least the forces involved were all mostly down on the hitches, not the opposite like this one.

can you imagine a 5th wheel bolted to a truck tied to a free wheeling car trailer loose on the highway at highway speeds? it would probably jackknife fast and blow apart.

That 5th wheel is probably packed with stuff too if they are moving

SwampYankee 10-22-2013 01:34 PM

Whut? :)

I'm kind of surprised that towing two trailers is legal in some states (with several caveats).

I wonder what state that was in? Might have been legal if he was towing the fifth wheel with the pickup and towed a U-Haul cargo trailer behind that. Or maybe the pickup blew and engine?

The guy deserves some points for an innovative approach.

Eh, as long as the truck was in 'P' they were OK.

What are you talking about a tercel? There is no tercel in there.

theres a tercel right on the trailer, I don't know what picture you are looking at. :D

1989 Toyota tercel and 1984 VW jetta 2 door are my go to cars for renting Uhaul car trailers. Thats why I brought that up, when uhaul asks what you intend to tow, those cars can be towed by anything on any uhaul trailer.

Anyone who has stayed abreast of the Uhaul situation KNOWS that some of their trucks are old and not maintained very well. Halfway into your move, they may break down and leave you stranded (ask me how I know, 1000 miles from home, no less).

The Uhaul renter in the photograph may end up causing an accident which may cause injuries to another motorist. Once the lawsuit winds up, he will never have another dollar to his name. They will sue him into bankruptcy and beyond. Stupid can be very expensive.

Ahahaha that's awesome. I always say empty project chassis. If I give them the actual vehicle info they will want to know if it has power seats and a cupholder....oh wait the cupholder isn't tow rated sorry.

You haven't lived until you are 1000 miles into a long distance move and your UHaul truck/van BREAKS DOWN. In more than a few locations, they do not have service facilities which means they will refer you and your broke down moving truck/van to the local 'Bob Big Mack truck repair' company where you sit in a cigarette smoke filled waiting room watching people spit snuff into pots and drink day old coffee. Oh, and if Bob Big Mack truck repair is unable to locate the necessary parts or is unable to repair your broke down Uhaul truck/van, you will be forced to unload all of your household belongings on the side of the road while trying to contact another moving company.

Loads of fun ..........

Don't Use UHaul Some of the stories are hair raising. some of the pictures are quite graphic. I'd consider it NSFW

Take it from me, his story is mild. I think they hire hippies as mechanics who toke on the job.

JB3 10-22-2013 04:41 PM

meh,

ive used uhaul at least a hundred times at this point because of work needs, and I have my own irritated stories, but for the most part, its not that bad. Id say 9 times out of 10 its a good experience, and when its not, the most common problem is delay or compatability issues. Other than that, ive only had a few tires blow, wiring issues, so on.

my biggest complaint was renting a pickup and trailer, finding that both weren't at the same location, and finding that the second uhaul location couldn't interface uhaul equipment with uhaul equipment. Was annoying, and wasted over 5 hours, but ultimately they made good with me.

decent company otherwise, the trailer choices are really what draws me. they have an excellent trailer selection for a variety of jobs. 3/4 of my rentals are trailers

EDIT-
move like 50 times, hundred is way too many.
