Well, it's not much, but...

It is a start.

Lying bastard deserves so much more.

It is a little surprising to me that it's Texas, given their reputation.

10 days is a joke. He should serve 25 years breaking rocks, one day for each day the wrongfully convicted man sat in prison.

Then again, his 500 hours of community service could be served cleaning up toxic radwaste....

The length of his sentence was determined by the statute of limitations on his crime.

Gov. Rick Perry, who appointed this criminal to the bench, recently said that Texas has never executed an innocent person. This may be due to the fact that since Perry has been Governor 117 men on Death Row have been proven through DNA testing to be innocent and have been released.

It is not too late for Governor Perry to issue a Pardon to the guilty party. As the Governor has announced he will not seek another term he has nothing to lose from doing so, but if the guilty party starts singing he could bring down the Republican Party in Texas. He knows, as the saying goes, where all the bodies are buried.

And it is without question that offers for his story will come from those wishing to break the news.

As Republicans are quick to point out in Texas: When you lie down with dogs you wake up with fleas.

Perry should read up on the Willingham case before opening his ignorant mouth.

There may be those here that consider sending an innocent man to Death Row as a small thing and that this is just another case of evil Democrats beating up on a hard working Republican named Anderson.

If this hard working Republican had not been in such a rush to find someone, anyone, guilty the true killer, who was discovered through DNA testing and is now behind bars, would not have killed another woman less than one year later.

The facts of this case have been known for several years. When the DNA evidence was proven a new trial was requested. The then Williamson County DA refused for six years to consider it and blocked any new trial based on the new evidence. The innocent man was exonerated after a lawsuit was filed to force a higher court to consider the case.

After the capture of the true murderer a daughter of the second victim demanded an answer from Ken Anderson who was DA when the innocent man was sent to prison. Anderson blamed 'the system' and denied responsibility for any mistakes.

The true magnitude of Anderson's crime became known when it was discovered he had evidence that proved the innocence of the accused but withheld it from the Defense, and it is this crime for which he was convicted.

Another factor in his light sentence was that it came from a plea deal. Under this deal he will continue to receive his state pension.

A cloud hanging over his head is that every case he was involved in will now be examined by both the State of Texas and an outside legal team. No one expects the State of Texas to expend much energy on this, but the outside team intends to press forward with criminal charges if any are discovered.
