Exclamation AMG Mercedes-driving, big-city lawbreaker sets new cross country speed record!.

In an "OLD" CL55 AMG with 115k on the clock.

(from the Jalopnik article: )

You might think the hardest part of setting the cross-country driving record is driving across the country. You might think the hardest part is staying awake for more than 24 hours, or constantly keeping your foot on the floor. You might think the hardest part is round-the-clock vigilance for law enforcement. You'd be wrong

Meet The Guy Who Drove Across The U.S. In A Record 28 Hours 50 Minutes

The car driven is like the 6th one down, from the top in this picture:

Way to go Ed! The mods he performed on the car are impressive, to say the least.

Now, if we could build a separate Interstate Highway system dedicated to Semi tractor truck travel only so we don't have to play chicken with 80,000+++ pound trucks that would be great. Then, only allow cars (benz, BMW, Porsche, Ferrari, etc etc.) that can easily and safely cruise north of 100 MPH on the regular Interstates......

I can dream can't I?????

or have the police spend as much time enforcing the "keep right except to pass" as they do speed laws or trolling for drunks (and the fed overtime $$ they bring).

I'm told there are multiple traffic courts in Atlanta, Georgia each of which brings in over $10000 each HOUR of every DAY. Nice business plan......

THIS!

And if it doesn't bring in enough revenue, just up the gas tax by a buck a gallon.

Less cool-ly than if he had had one.
