Given as an example of what the experts have done to this country over the past 100 years or sso, I am all for letting amateurs have a go at it.

This country was founded by amateur 20- and 30-somethings.

What is "congressional law"?

No it's a response to your statement, one I doubt you really stand behind.

You could hardly be more wrong. I have little doubt that 537 randomly selected adults could do no worse than the elected government of the past 100 years. This is not an expression of my great faith in the wisdom of the Common Man. Rather, it is the contempt I hold for the party-run apparatus that has brought us through the previous 100 years.

I have been saying for a long time that if you drew names from a hat from each congressional district, we would be better off. The problem with the current set of bozo's is that they care ONLY for themselves and don't give one twit for the American public.

Put the ones in there whose names you drew and make them be subject to every single law they pass and have to use the same health care and retirement systems that they vote on.

What enables the system we have, is the zealots that are stupid enough to think that their favorite bozo is better than the opposing bozo. This gullibility gets in the way of coming up with solutions. The zealots are supporting all the hair brain or dishonest ideas their guy comes up with just because it was their favorite crooked politician that came up with it.

There's nothing wrong with voting for the person that best matches your own ideas, but when you support a particular candidate no matter what, you are playing into the problems of this system.

The current bunch of two party self centered jackasses are killin' us.

You need a civics class.

I don't think it has so much to do with experience as it does with your Political Party backing you. If a Party grabbed someone off of the Street and got them elected to some office the Party could guide them throught the job.

If you have no Political parties backing You; you are not going to be allowed by any of the Parties to get anything done.

We like to think we are electing an individual but we are not.
