A Ford Excursion...

Imagine all the junk I could run over!

are we talking initial price, or yearly fuel budget?

id be surprised if that silly truck could do as well as the semi featured behind it in the fuel economy department.

I can think of a dozen smaller more nimble trucks to make off road machines like that that would be a hell of a lot more fun and actually fit on most trails. That thing is a joke

ive got an f250 of the same erra with the 7.3l in it. i get 20s on the highway and closer to 14 in town

with the regear+46" tires, this is spinning very close to the same RPMs as stock.

but your truck isn't a massive lift with power mods with outrageous tires on it, is it? :D

Id be surprised if that thing was getting 10mpg with that setup.

Is that even road legal?

4x4_Welder 11-30-2013 09:43 PM

A bit much- I want a stock one with a 7.3PSD that I can swap a six speed into.

I've got the drivetrain in my truck now. Whole truck is for sale :D

I have no problem with trucks like that but I always felt they should not be allowed on the road. That set up is for off road and off road only. I got hit by a SUV with only a small lift and my car got heavily damaged. I can only hope I would not have been killed if I were hit by the truck above.

With all the stupid DOT mandates, its a wonder they never clamped down on trucks like this.

It should be a law that a vehicle modified to where its bumper sits twelve inches or more higher than stock is no longer road legal.... Perhaps a foot is being too generous.

Front, rear, or side... a truck like that would go over any normal vehicle's crumple zone/other safety equipment and decapitate the occupants.

X2. There should be headlight specs too. Sit 10 feet in the air if you must but all road going vehicles should have headlights no more than, say, 30" from the pavement.
