I remember hearing about some guy in a small town in Colorado who had an axe to grind with his neighbors and the town in general, so he armored a large bulldozer with concrete and demolished half the buildings in the town.

Interesting and easier to mount then mattracks. I wonder how they handle side slopes....

On my way home from Michigan a few months ago I stopped for a burger and saw this rumble into the parking lot.

I asked the dude driving it if he had trouble getting it licensed in Ontario and he said "A little."

I would really be impressed if he could drive it across the border. "What is your purpose for visiting the United States"? "Are you carrying any contraband or firearms"?

Pretty ingenious the way they anchor it to a wheel hub adapter and existing frame holes. I don't know that I go offroad exploring with them (as opposed to the ones that bolt directly to the lugs), but for known fields and covered, unplowed roads they seem more than adequate. And unlike the bolt-on ones, looks easier (if you have a pickup to throw them back into) to convert back to tires for highway/plowed road use.

I'm trying to come up with a way to justify them...

I would be curious to see how a Model T with skis works: Arago: Exhibits

I need to get a Model T someday. Those things look like fun.

Yet another one of my yet-to-be-funded interests. Here are a couple links if you're interested.

Model T Snowmobile Club of New England. They have several events throughout the northeast.

New Hampshire Snocar supplies/manufactures parts for Model A & T Snocars.

They do work surprisingly well, although not going to do any serious trailblazing with them.
