Friend died today...

A good friend and business associate of mine passed away today. Only 53 years old, of cancer. Its really a damn shame. The cancer took over his body in the past few days, its very similar to my other buddy who died a few years ago.

**** cancer, I'll put up the obituary if anyone cares when the family writes it.

This is a tough week, business wise its going very well, but I feel guilty as hell enjoying it with his passing. We were in the same business and competed for parcels often, so one day I wanted to kill him for screwing me out of something, the next he was giving me good advice and helping me out.

Having said that I'd give anything to be able to talk to him about the success or failures of this week Friday at the Xmas party he was supposed to be at.

I have no friends that screw me out of things. Mistakes, yes. Shafting me, no. First time you screw me over is the last time we talk. I cannot trust that the next time after the good advice you will not screw me over.

Ever hear of friendly competition? Have a sense of humor and sportsmanship for once.

Hatterasguy, my condolences.

Care to explain how screwing someone over is considered "friendly competition" or sportsmanship? Perhaps you consider Tonya Harding a good sportsman (or woman) for the baton trick? That what you call "friendly competition"?

Seriously: show some respect. Trolling a thread like this isn't cool. If you want to argue, start another thread. I'm done here -- if you want to respond, do so via PM.

You ever show anyone you don't agree with respect? Good joke.

i have a co worker with cancer. I was happy to see him this year at our company Christmas party. He didn't look good. It makes me sad to see him like that as he is a good guy. My condolences to you and his family.

My condolences.

A cousin of mine just passed unexpectedly a few weeks ago. He was only 40ish...I guess he had a heart condition that he told no one about.

It's a sad reality we all have to face sooner or later.

Please add my sympathies.

To be missed is a terrific epitaph. RIP to your friend, and I also would read his obituary.
