Yup. One of many sun daggers here in the SW. There is a good one near here on the V Bar V ranch, but it was cloudy this time around and the sun couldn't do it's work. I have pictures of it but don't have time to dig thru disks to find them.

Agreed. The changing of the seasons was considered to be the basis for most of what we now call holidays. IIRC JC was supposed to have actually been born in spring or early summer, which is another point when many religons have a big to do – due to spring; not JC, that is.
