Imprisoning the banker is one thing. The crux of the issue is whether we are willing to go thru some pain while in the transition between good and bad. Yes, someone comes up to replace them but are you willing to suffer some side effects?
Take a simple college degree. Everyone wants one. How many are willing to work hard and make good grades for 4 years or more? We are good when there are good times. Any problem and we cry for the govt to fix it. Hence they are trying to be as "proactive" as they can to fix it now before it gets too bad. That way, if it does, "well, I tried my best". If it doesn't, "I'm a hero for saving you.". Either way, it ends with "Vote for me".

I disagree
IMO it would be minor pain.
Bust the top level = the highest level bank executives, and the industry WILL understand the MESSAGE. Give them immunity + Pamper and pay them off = enhances their already overwhelming CONTEMPT of any / all regulation or law. Bank executives KNOW they are untouchable, regardless of what they do.. . |

A side benefit of putting some of those greedy convicted multimillionaire bank execs in jail would be that maybe there would be some SERIOUS talk about real Jail reform.
lol

Well...they probably own the prisons, so there would likely be some immediate and localized prison reform...

Feed 'em to the hogs. At least then their use of space on the planet will have had some benefit to others.

In China or Korea they would just shoot them. Probably then send their family the bill for the bullets.

What was that saying? The best way to rob a bank is to own it?

The Gov't. entities need the high-level private sector banker/executives to keep their power, and the money movement......for that is where the prosperity (taxes) come from..... What you see is the Gov't. acting like they're; hard-line tough, and the Wall Street bankers acting; as if they're scared. Expect more of the same, from both entities. It never changes, in reality... |
