Classic Center visit without having to leave the house

Classic Center tour

Neat to be able to nose around the lobby.

Whenever you're in Irvine it's worth a stop.

So, are all the cars there on-loan to the Classic Center from private owners, as other collections are? Are any of them for sale?

Some are there for service, restoration, or sale. The Classic Center in Irvine also gets cars from the Classic Center in Germany on a rotating basis. On visits there, I've seen the orange C-111 diesel, a Sauber C, Seinfeld's E60 and other notable cars.

When the C-111 did a PR tour in the US in 1966 I was able to get an up close and personal look at it at Aristocrat Motors in Kansas City. Look, touch, smell. I remember the design as being, at that time, a sensation, so far out and avant garde. Now.....not so much.

Well, that was almost 50 years ago, ya know.

Yeah, I never had the pleasure of seeing it in person, but the C-111 long tail that did all the records with the 617 turbo motor was electrifying to look at!
