I don't know ... he sold his goods to willing parties, and no one complained about the quality. Wall Streeters who bilked the public selling them worthless investment instruments in the 90s and 2000s have mostly not been touched. Funny that.

Yeah and he beheaded people for the spectacle/fear factor of it and killed off whoever got in his way.

And God only knows how many of his customers ransacked people's houses and sold the goods for pennies on the dollar to finance their habit.

And how many have died due to political instability and outright war fostered by policies of the US gov't and Wall Street types? Not to mention, I bet more ordinary people lost money to the 2007-9 recession than lost money to drug-fueled robberies.

How many crooks from the Iraq War era and from the big banks are sitting in prison right now, again?

Hard to deny a lot of that. Gen. Smedley Butler had a lot to say about the role of big money men in various wars and/or skirmishes that he had been called on to be part of.

Not sure the comparison makes a lot of difference. The drugs thing is a tough one. I've known a number of large growers who met with oddly bad luck. I think it should be legal but something about getting rich on people's weaknesses/vices sure seems to be bad karma. Could well be nothing, mere coincidence, who knows.

And the brutality of the Sinaloa Cartel is hard to overlook.

There will be even more disappointed as their payoffs have now ceased to exist. In the area I previously worked was a high drug traffic area, and the police knew where it was sold, and who was selling it. My thought was that they turned a blind eye for a reason $$.

My son mentioned this guzman fellow the other day. He said Guzman was running the cartel from Chicago. Guess he got homesick.

Yes, yes.

A nation violates nuclear weapons proliferation law and becomes a world leader with favored status and preferential treatment. Jaywalking on the other hand can get you hanged.

You steal $60 from the local 7-11 and go to jail for the rest of your viable life. Steal 10 million from old folk's retirement accounts and they make you a senator.

At least they have a sense of humor and call it a justice system.

I have a better one if the man saw someone in the alley with the forklift they were threatened with three tickets, all moving violations which was cause for a drivers license suspension for a year. They must not have wanted to slow down the purchasers that flew through the alley I mean drive thru lane. As a matter of fact I also think that those lack enforcement tactics came from the top (Police Chief, Mayor)as a whole lot of money comes into that area from the suburbs that would never be seen there if the drug trade was non existent. The city of Chicago gets a 1% sales tax on any Bentley sold in the city, and they are popular with the one who traffic in that trade.
