If I had to drive a minivan all day, it wouldn't be long before I drove it into a large body of water...

Looks like it was floating once it got to deep enough water. Would have been a real boon for Ted.

Sad when desperation or depression drives people to do these things. The end result may be good though in some of them simply because attention is shifted to the causative problem. So it may get dealt with.

I doubt it was attention seeking behavior but will be treated as such and that is reasonable.
