Getty Images Gives Away 35 Million

Getty gives away 35 million images for free - CSMonitor.com

Now, a majority of the company’s photo library will be available through an “embed” tool, similar to how people share YouTube videos. The images will not be resizable, and will include the Getty Image logo and photographer credit. However, certain editorial photos, such as those from September 11 and the protests in Tiananmen Square, will not be included.

Two friends of mine are red carpet shooters for Getty and I myself have worked for them occasionally. They pretty much bought every single company, offered photographers hefty salaries to work for them exclusively and basically cornered the marked. It's a good company to work for, pay is great.

If they're visible on screen, should be easy enough to rip 'em off, tool or not.
