What is this animal - 'subject stop'? Is this a probable cause issue? No suspected underlying crime, not investigating any reported event, just pull people aside and detain for questioning?

The cop and maybe everyone would still be alive if he just minded his own business. Sure, it is a good idea for the cop to be vigilant and observant, but where is the statutory basis to interrogate with out some specific underlying issue?

Does the picture of a pretty girl make it more outrageous? Why should her looks make any difference?

It makes it more curious perhaps. One expects that someone who would shoot an officer would, statistically, be a little more in the hardened criminal ranks.

I wonder what was so suspicious about this couple that he had to stop them for interrogations and call in back-up from multiple jurisdictions. You would think he would have expressed something to dispatch. I wonder if we will ever hear that tape.

No one heard all that shooting??? Right out side the houses at 4am???

Maybe the cop was completely out of line and maybe there was a burglary or assault or breaking and entering that was witnessed nearby and the couple fit the description. It wouldn't be unknown that a young man that age would have weird ambition and do wildly aggressive shyte.

Who knows, I hope the truth comes out and I suspect it will, more or less.
