mercedes 190 seats

hi..... i need help on my 93 mercedes 190 2.6 im having trouble with the pasenger front seat wont go foward and backwards. but it goes up and down with no problems. what can it be where to start checking first thank you.

I had a 1984 with power seats that did not work. I removed the switches from the door, disassembled the switches, cleaned the contacts/springs/etc., reassembled, and I had working seats.

as mentioned above, always start your mission by checking the switches. They get incredibly dirty and beat on.
