Becoming regular news accross the country:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman punched in the face by a teenage boy during a string of assaults and robberies in downtown Louisville tells WDRB she was scared for her life and the lives of her children.
Viola Loeffler and her boyfriend were nearing a stoplight downtown Saturday night when all of a sudden, they say a mob of teenagers surrounded their car.
The scariest part? They had five children with them.
"This is like something out of a movie. I've never seen anything like this before," said Loeffler.
It was around 8 p.m. Saturday when Viola Loeffler says she and her family were attacked at the intersection at First and Liberty.
"Right before we got to the stoplight, we noticed about 50 to 100 teens coming to the middle of the street. It was a one-way street so we couldn't go any further. All of a sudden, one of them throws a garbage can on our car," said Loeffler.

And, what's a good reason again to infringe upon the 2nd Amendment ? It is unfortunate that this person did not make all those involved speed bumps. Let's see how much media attention this event garners. In the past 3-4 years, this has happened a bunch, yet not a peep from the media. I wonder why? I bet it would be news worthy if the victim(s) opened fire or flattened a number of these animals. Heck, one individual defending himself garners so much adverse national news for months and even presidential attention, but nothing on a mob and mom and her kids.

Let's hope for a cool, rainy summer.

Yes, the lack of coverage is curious for this alleged black on white crime. I wanted to read more about it, and since you didn't provide a link, I Google-newsed it. While there is a lot of coverage of mob violence in Louisville lately, for this incident, I can only find an undated video in the raw video section of the WDRD site and then about a half dozen 2nd amendment blog type posts crowing about it. The WDRB video only shows what appears to be survellience footage of a crowd of dark skinned youths running through a gas station somewhere sometime and an interview with the victims' faces hidden. Nothing about this incident even on the FOX website.

Something is fishy here.

Nothing really confusing about it. Perhaps I should have been a little more clearer. Not a peep from the major, prime time news outlets, EG 6 PM news, ABC, CBS, NBC, 11 PM news, or something spread out over the national news process on the major cable channels. It can be found on the internet, if you look.

Is this a fishy news outlet ?

I believe the fact that I had to hunt and search a while on the NET to find the story ... proves the point. Again, why ?

I looked too and found lots about mobs of kids causing trouble but nothing about a woman getting hit in the face.

There was an incident reported in a Bus where a man stabbed a teenager who was part of a mob that was interacting with him in some non specific negative way. The kid died later and the man was not charged with anything so it was speculated the kids were upset about that.....might be reasonable might not be, cannot tell from what is stated in the article.

Proves what point? That the story you cite is exagerrated? That's what I'm trying to figure out.

About the only thing I am confident happened is there was lots of mob violence in Louisville over the weekend and there's a white woman and man who claim they were attacked by a mob of dark skinned teens. I think a woman getting punched by a teen in the middle of a melee is news, but not national news. The stabbing death of the 14 year boy was a much bigger story.

What I can't understand is why the man got out of the car. There wasn't much damage to the car shown in the video even though they said it was hit with a garbage can and pelted with rocks. I only saw a small dent. I'd be pissed if a gang surrounded my car and put a dent in it, but I sure as hell wouldn't get out to confront 50 to 100 teens. I think if the mob wanted to harm them further, they could easily have done so.
