Really interesting analysis of Branch Davidians

It's thinking alien to me. But then, I'm not trying to arrest them...

I'll read anything Malcolm Gladwell writes, terrific author.

I have an errand to run on public transit after work, so hopefully I can get through it all uninterrupted.

Thanks for posting that!

Interesting analysis, the message was easy (at least for me) to understand. Point: Koresh spoke apocalyptic, millenial bible while the FBI spoke J. Edgar "go in with guns blazin' " Hoover. Classic case of total communication breakdown.

more of the story and the names of those who died in the fire.......

Waco siege - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to Janet Reno, all they wanted to do was save the children.

I thought this was known years ago, that's why I said it didn't seem to have a point. The fact that the FBI didn't take the advice of the religious studies scholar who was called in was written about shortly after the event.

Reasonable article. The FBI & ATF did NOT want a peaceful solution: they wanted blood. They planned to raid to cower the populace into complying and when it backfired, murdering the participants was the only thing they would do. The war on the American citizenry began on the day they rolled into Mt Carmel and started shooting.

For what it is worth the people in the area normally called them 'The Branch People'. Sometimes that term pops up in an article, usually with no explanation.

Thank you for posting the article, Gladwell is always interesting reading. When a man's house or church is burned to the ground, it is hoped that the memory of him dies as well........

Wait now ... are you saying that wasn't an accident? They pumped in all that flammable gas and then poof?

According to Janet Reno, the other side started the fire. In this case, the feds are innocent of all wrongdoing. How do we know? Because they said so.

In some strange way, I felt sorry for her. She was given erroneous information concerning the Waco situation, it appears deliberately.

There is a lot more intel regarding Waco. I've read that when the fire began, the Waco fire department was called to the scene. According to the article I read, when they arrived they were refused entrance and were forced to watch the building burn to the ground. I don't know if the article was factual or not but you sure don't see any fire trucks in any of the video footage..........
