Did you know you can't drive to Bogota Columbia?

Not on this side of the Canal. just a game I play, I plan road trips to Canada, Alaska, Costa Rica etc. So I wanted to drive to Bogota. THERE AIN't NO ROAD.

the road heading south stop a little south of Panama City. I just wonder why seeing Panama just over hundred years ago was part of Columbia. Are they still pi55ed at each other?

Actually, it's not just Bogota, it's all of South America.

There is just one point that is impassable by road: the 100-mile Darien Gap between Panama and Colombia, which consists of undeveloped swampland and impenetrable rainforest inhabited by indigenous tribes, Colombian guerrillas and an array of exotic wildlife. This portion of the journey must be bypassed by air or sea, with ferries available to ship vehicles from Panama to Colombia and vice versa

well Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan-American_Highway says there is a highway but the Satellite says no you still got that gap between Yaviza and Turbo

Yea the Darien Gap. I suppose I could drive to Yaviza, hire porters to carry my 300D thru the jungle and start again in the town of Turbo

It can be done. Chevrolet tried in the early 60's with an expedition of early Corvairs. They failed. The Corvairs are in the jungle. Then in the 70's a British expedition set out with the new model Range Rovers. They made it although they had lots of troubles with axles breaking on the Range Rovers and bought an old Land Rover in Central America which made it through best.

Fascinating, 96 days to get thru the Darien Gap of 250 miles but flew thru Chile doing 90-100 miles and hour. Nobody wants another go at it?

Actually, two out of three Corvairs made it:

In 1961, a team of three 1961 Chevrolet Corvairs and several support vehicles departed from Panama. The group was sponsored by Dick Doane Chevrolet, a Chicago Chevrolet dealer and the Chevrolet division of General Motors. After 109 days they reached the Colombia Border with two Corvairs, the third having been abandoned in the jungle. This was the first crossing by a standard two wheel drive passenger car. It has been documented by a Jam Handy Productions film along with an article in Automobile Quarterly magazine (Volume 1 number 3, from the fall of 1962).

The whole thing is a mess, no one seems to be able to maintain a ferry service, the area is a hotspot for various armed groups involved in whatever the conflict of the day is. People are still doing it, but it isn't popular and/or newsworthy.

Well, yeah, you can drive there....pretty cool too as long as there are no Hurricanes around.
