This is the death of Archie as we see it, and we're treating it with that same level of gravitas and import. It's a once-in-a-lifetime event, and we are being very considerate about it.

So it sounds like this series never really took off and the publisher needs a headline grabbing way to exit the series.

Or perhaps they are going to focus on the core of the story and dump the baggage built up over the years.

I might just scan a few comic sites and see what the hard core are thinking.

Aguirre-Sacasa, who became Archie Comics' new chief creative officer in March, is also writing the script for a live-action "Archie" movie for Warner Bros. After news of the deal broke in June, Aguirre-Sacasa told The Times' Hero Complex that it would be "a straight-up teen movie. It's Archie's coming-of-age story. Hopefully, it will be the 'Archie' movie people have been anticipating for 70-plus years." (There have been TV adaptations but no definitive big-screen treatment.)

There is still a Cartoon on TV. I saw part of it last night.

It is likely the Comics were not Violent enough for People these days.
