Pennsylvania school stabbing

I'm glad this kid didn't have a gun.

The school had metal detectors...and still got two kitchen knives into the school. One child may not make it, according to local reports.

My kids came home from school yesterday quite shaken by what happened. My daughter is friends with one a family member of one that was slashed, and word of this swept through their school quickly.

What a nightmare...

I know people of the same last name as the perp who are much older and live in my township and have kids who live in Plum and have children of this age.
Its not a very common last name either...

You are that close? I had a rush of anxiety right as I heard the news yesterday. One parent to another I extend my sympathies to you, your family, and your community.

Close enough that their school and our school play in the same conference. My son's history teacher from last year now teaches there. We're roughly 30 miles from there. My daughter's boyfriend has family there.

Stuff like this is fairly common in China.

I wonder how many more incidents like this have to happen in schools before the limp wristed school boards grows a pair and hires armed security guards?

Newtown correctly (and quietly) fixed the problem after lambasting the NRA for suggesting exactly what they did, go figure...

In our modern society we won't lock crazy people up, we just drug them so this is what your going to get. Especially with the mass media coverage which "glorifies" it in their sick minds.

It would be easy enough for several High School Students to jump the Security Guard and take the Gun.

At the Long Beach City College they got rid of the Armed Guards because that was not stopping crime on the Campus and pay for the City Police to be on Campus.

It is hard to know where split the Hair on the Sick Kid issue. In the past those kids and just plain Physically Handicapped were denied an education and the Parents still paid Taxes to support the Schools.

But, in those days there was usually a Mother and Father in the Family and someone staying Home to take care of the Kid.

So now there is some chance that some of the Kids that have handicaps might learn enough to be able to support or partially support themselves; in the Past the Family took care of them.

Blue Collar Single Parents cannot stay home or afford to pay someone to watch a Childe every work day and the Government does not want to pay to institutionalize them.

And then someone is not considered dangerous until the have already done something to endanger others if not actually hurt someone.

Watch late in the month when meds run out and no money to buy more. Or mom rations meds out to make money go further. Wife sees a lot of the kids that have not had their meds. Kids normally can function pretty well and learn. No meds for a couple of days and the kids are out of control. Wish I knew the solution.

"And school resource officer William "Buzz" Yakshe was involved from beginning to end, from alerting police by radio about the chaos to being one of the stabbing victims to ultimately handcuffing the suspect."

I assume that this man was a police officer: if so, why didn't he shoot the crazy bastard?

Or this guy? "He did so after seeing the alleged assailant stab Sgt. John Resetar, a school security guard, in the stomach, according to a criminal complaint."

Another case where SOMEBODY responsible in the school and carrying a firearm, could have shot this nutcase. Also a good example of how easy it is to terrorize w/o a gun. Kinves can be put into action quickly...and the carnage is usually severe

kudos to the assistant principal.........

Exactly true. Nearly all the mass violence is committed by people on prescribed medication for psychic imbalance of one sort or another. The unintended consequences of drug interactions is poorly understood. It's mostly a crap shoot to keep 'em sedated.

People simply stop taking their Psychoactive Meds.

And what happens when someone is on Psychoactive Meds and also takes illegal Drugs that School Kids often take.
