How to collect 500 dollars from morons

Sell them a "pocket AR"

... we are sure it will be interesting for novelty sake, a single shot “AR” that you can throw in your pocket is an interesting stretch, just as much as its namesake. Nonetheless if one simply fell into our hand, we would gladly give it a go just for the sake of science as we would like to call it. The PAR1 Pocket AR Pistol will retail for around $450-$500 and will be on hand at the NRA Annual Meeting with Heizer Defense in Booth #6274.

We used to call these guns that killed those to the front and wounded those behind.

That looks remarkably like those "assassination pistols" that were dropped behind enemy lines by plane to partisans in ww2. If i recall, it was a single shot .45 with a little wooden dowell for popping out the shell casing, and a couple reloads, all in a tiny cardboard box.

I saw one once in i think it was the museum at west point. Was a while ago i saw this, so somone please correct me on the history behind them, but it was an interesting idea. Build a cheap one shot and spread it around with the idea that partisans would kill enemy soldiers with them via surprise, and then disarm and re-eqip themselves with the dropped weapon, and then discard the tiny pistol

This looks like a really close replica, though not as simple

Somebody is making a replica of those things, even making it out of similarly cheesy sheet metal. I remember reading about it somewhere.

While I would never shoot it, it is an interesting concept. I'm sure the main market would be as an oddity or curio. I don't see much practical unless used as a liberator.

I lived across the street from an old black man in Seattle in the late 80s. Incredibly cool guy, he'd been a railroad porter and now owned a couple of properties. Was always puttering around his Cadillac out front so he could chew the fat with whoever came by.

He had some means and dressed that way. He carried a little two shot .22 derringer in his pocket. Not sure about C&C license, not sure he would have been concerned about it.

He told me a story once about how 3 teenagers in the inner city came up to him with a knife one day with "gimme your money old man." He demonstrated his response for me:

He reached into his pocket slowly, saying "OK, OK, OK" pulled his hand out showing the back of his hand and said "But Imo kill you first muther******," while turning his hand over to show the derringer in his palm. The kids ran off.

I worked on ejection seats & survival kits (under seatpads) in the 1960's (f/rf-4c/d's among other planes). The survival kits had these 22/410 pistols in them. They were refered to as 'over under-double wonders', didnt look like the pics in the links tho.

Walther build a cal. .25 during the early 1920's that was carried by rural Post Office letter carriers. I don't know if this was a sanctions thing or not but they were sure popular with the Mailmen.

Very tiny and would fit in the pocket of your vest. You could reach for them as fast as you could pull your pocket watch out of your other vest pocket.
