What did those cops think?

Maybe all they saw was a "black person with a gun" and that was enuf,,,,

'She was reaching for her waistband' <- that one would have worked too.

If you are in the midst of a cop encounter and you hear the cop say something like, "I AM IN FEAR FOR MY LIFE" best run for cover.

What is the point of your quote? Were you there to say otherwise? That is what the report said so that is all they have to go on in the article. So unless you have other information that isn't in the "wishful thinking" or "speculative" groups, feel free to show me

More wild rumors?

Fired away

Why is it the cities wait until a cop goes off the rails before they fire them? A simple psychological exam administered annually could help prevent these tragedies. Perhaps the testing would cost too much........

Did it ever occur to you that a psychological exam might exclude all or such a large portion of Law Enforcement officers from serving that there would be enough Officers.

"According to the district attorney's statement, Stem asked Golden to put down the weapon and then fired upon her."

"The Hearne City Council met on Saturday and voted unanimously to fire Stem, according to a report by KBTX-TV in the Bryan-College Station metropolitan area of Texas. City officials could not be reached for comment but the Hearne police official confirmed Stem was let go, without giving further details."

I wonder what would happen if a 93 Year Old walked into the next City Council Meeting and "brandished a firearm"?
Would the be fearful for their lives?

My Father is 88 Years old and used to be an excellent shot with a Hand Gun. Even now He easily and quickly can shot a whole Magazine into the Torso of a Target at 25 Yards.

When you last received a traffic citation, was the cop packing heat? How did that make you feel?

What, exactly are you saying? Are you saying that if a psychological exam were administered PRIOR to hiring, most applicants would wash out? Or, are you saying that a large portion of CURRENTLY employed LEOs might have to sit the bench??

You act like common Folks never get Pulled Over by the Police.
When I have been pulled over I have always been polite and cooperated and the Police have with one exception treated Me the same way.

I never act threatening to the Police have never acted in any threatening manner to Me.

My Father told Me way back when I was a Kid not to mess with the Police or you at the very least get your Arse Kicked. I took it as good advice.

I also stay sober enough that I know what I am doing all of the time and I avoid areas and People that I know are troublesome.

I have no Wants or Warrants and no animosity towards the Police.

Someone no matter what age they are that Brandishes a Gun in front of the Police has big time failed to take care of themselves.

As a Adult 3 Friends of mine went to Jail at different times. One is never getting out one is Dead from Her Drug use. I don't know what became of the other.
None of the above was the fault of the Police.

While waiting to visit My Friends I Jail I got to talk to a lot of the Inmates Families and it is extremely sad what Criminals have inflicted on their Famalies.

Both are exactly what I was saying. Everyone seems to be demanding some perfection from the Police that does not exist in Themselves/Normal Human beings especially when the Police are exposed to the worst of the worst People in our Country.

The Police are involved in what amounts to Guerrilla Warfare. The Police and other Law Enforcement don't know who is their Enemy. Working in those conditions why would the expect them not to have psychological issues.

Personally I don't understand why anyone would want the thankless Job of being a Police Officer.

Never even give it a second thought. Been stopped several times (lead foot) and I have never been worried once. Then again I am a white male so that makes things a little less scary.
