Pain in the backside

We should think up even more ways to make life miserable for the down trodden. Certainly we can do better than these feeble attempts, show us what you got! Anti-homeless studs at London residential block prompt uproar | Society | theguardian.com

Where does "We" come in this? It's a privately owned piece of property where the owner and residents don't want vagrants hanging around.

What an ugly, depressing lobby for a supposedly high-end apartment building. Looks like an entrance to a council house to me.

I wonder when the first lawsuit from someone tripping on a spike will be.

Poor England. No colonies to sell the poor into slavery any more in order to get rid of them.

Either really. Vermin is just a title applied by society. Rats, opossums, swallows, they all have a place, but too many in an area, or once they begin to bother people, the label vermin is applied.

Considered vermin=vermin

So, was there ever a time when society valued the homeless?

I'm sympathetic. Homeless people routinely piss and **** in the alcove of my garage. It's not nice. There should be public ****ters for the homeless. They sleep there too but that doesn't bother me much. ****ting does.

Who wants to trip on a spike on the way to the intercom and have a spike split their kneecap? Ouch!

This is crying for a lawsuit, not to mention dumb. If the building didn't want skells sleeping rough, a flowerpot or two would have solved the problem without making the entrance look even more like the door to a minimum-security correctional facility. Not to mention, it would have caused good karma (beautification) rather than bad press.
