Not so smart after all, it seems...

Um, oops!

Actually, he sounds like he's following in Polanski's footsteps. Why in the world would a 28 YO man want to go out with a girl who is only 15? And I take it her parents didn't know? Personally I'd have a hard time letting my 15 YO daughter out of the house (particularly in this day and age) without more details.

Because women his age are on to his act / game / crazy . ( I don't know about this specific guy but this is what I've seen go down with others at work where 45 and 18 has occasionally played out. )

Or parents don't care, were part of this kind of then were they were young. ( plus, if parents are 30 yo, they are likely not equipped with skills to monitor a 15 YO. )

In the end, the 15 has some culpability in this. . . .

Well, we'll find out. If he repeats this behavior, assuming he isn't locked away for a very long time, then it will be clear he's neither very bright nor remembers well the consequences of stupid actions.
