Mr Flat Pack Furniture inventor thank you for an enjoyable evening!!!
I'm sorry for this it isn't even car related but I had to tell someone.I rather foolishly bought one of those flat pack wardrobes. You know the one's "Easy home assembly"easy, well stuff that for a game of soldiers. How come Taking my Merc apart holds no fear for me,but putting a Simple wardrobe together ends up with me getting totally stressed out and wound up?
Place part "A" into part "C" and attach part "D" with the 5mm screw.Well Mr Flat Pack Furniture inventor if you could take one step forward I'll show you where to insert part"A"!!!!! Well I eventually got it together, then promptly managed to trip over and put my hand out to stop myself falling and broke the damn thing.I'm going to have another go at it tommorrow when I've mellowed out some. What a great way to pass the evening and eighty quid.Sorry for the rant Bear

Howdy Bear,
Don't worry Bear!¡ I get furniture that you have to asemble and what ever time they say it will take I double it. My best effort was on aa piece that said it would take 6 hours. I had it together in a week

Those damn things always leave out at least one of the fastners, or have a hole mis-alligned, or an edge out of true. And when they do get assembled, they reek of formaldehyde for weeks. I have yet to assemble one item of 'tilt up' furniture that didn't need modification to work properly.

Howdy John,
At least you have a good reason for having trouble. My problems come from "Operator Error"

Thanks guys I just needed to vent my wrath somewhere. The instructions only show you a screwdriver as a taster of things to come in the instructions! The damn things should have a damn health and safety warning. There's not even a warning about getting so riled up,that in ones temper one MAY end up throwing the hammer and narrowly miss the TV!!! Now that would have sent the cost well over the original eighty quid the damn thing cost me in the first place.
I'll never learn,I just have to see"easy home assembly"and I'm sold like the proverbial lamb to the slaughter. There is only one other job around the house that gets me this wound up,so we don't get wall paper hung very often either! Thank's I feel much better now.Bear

Bear,
What does quid mean in the way you use it? It must mean pounds or unit of currency. Is there more to it? I generally enjoy assembling furniture. At least until I get to the screws that my electric screwdriver isn't strong enough to turn. For a reality check, you're welcome to turn a wrench on my American minivan. That is if you can figure out if the particular bolt takes a metric or imperial wrench. Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL 81 300SD |
