Haven't seen enough of the trailers to get an idea if it's worth seeing or not yet.

IMDB reviews are all over the place.

People calling it an insult to every veteran who ever lived, others saying its on par with das boot and private ryan.

I hope its not painfully bad like red tails.

You are glued to the screen the whole time. Performances are magnificent. Battles are great. Very unrealistic epic final battle but still very good.

One scene just about ruined the movie for me. You will know when you watch it. Starts out nice enough until the rest of the crew joins Brad pit and the newbie.

Up there with private Ryan for me, but certainly does not glorify war or the people fighting it.

This review was enough to make me think it can easily wait for redbox or netflix. Or maybe never, even.

One excerpt:
Quote:
By the end of “Fury,” I was rooting for Brad Pitt to get shot between the incisors.
This is a problem, because he’s the hero of the film — a hard-charging sergeant who eats lead and craps shrapnel. Yet he’s a vainglorious bastard — vindictive, stupid and criminal.
His character should be brought up on charges or referred to the nearest psychoanalyst specializing in sadomasochism.
Director David Ayer (“End of Watch”) has evidently decided that if you can’t say anything new about war, you should say the old stuff, loudly and with images worthy of a gross-out horror flick.
Most of Ayer’s imaginative power goes into orgies of violence — men’s legs being cut off by machine-gun fire, a sliver of a face lying around like a dirty sock, another man who has been run over so many times, he has become one with the mud.

It's like Inglorious Bastards and a tank had a drinking binge. It's awesome

That review sounds like someone has lived a sheltered life. The creators of this movie made to to show the absolute horrors soldiers go through and the stuff they do because it changes you into a twisted war machine that does things like make a new guy execute a German POW

I suspect that it's going to be a long wait for a war movie to be the simplistic "good guys" beating the "bad guys" with mere honor, patriotism and courage.

Sounds a bit like Hollywood "artistic" masturbation to me.

No, no, you're thinking of "Furry" which is an entirely different film...
