Car Guys --Are You a Maker ?

Just wondering how many others here are into making car parts, functional or acessories,
rollguy makes sanden bracket kits
another made a turbo boost refrenced gizmo
and yet another i recall did some silk screened guage faces
But in general--not particularly benz related, what have you made in the past.
Being a hardcore plastics/composite pattern tool maker I have been fabbing stuff since i was a 20 yr old, they first thing was a 69 z28 hood.
And now branching into aluminum cast 30's rod trim pieces and acessories.
What are yall into making?

And the custom removable hardtop for 67-8 Camaro and firebird convertibles , fold down the ragtop, and cap it off for the cold months.

I notices some guy did one of these for 64-66 mustangs,, and he REALLY outdid himself, not only is it great looking--its a fastback style a convertible and a fastback coupe.

Here is the 76-91 square body K5 blazer custom cab back panel that instantly converts the square body gm suv's into a pickup-i still crank out a few, sending 2 to a customer in Duabi right now--and perhaps the 68 camaro will go to duabi next yr.

here is an example of that mustang custom hardtop convertible. i did a little more investigating--you cannot open the trunklid with this custom roof in place...... ahhh the tradeoffs makers have to deal with. mine dosent fit 1969 models, no biggie I was never a 9 guy anyhow, as far as the #s

there were 25000 67 camaro ragtops made,
there were 21000 68 camaro ragtops made,
there were 19000 69 camaro ragtops made.

the first yr the mustang was made there were 101000 convertibles made and about the same til the intro of the camaro and firebird so right out of the get go -- there were 10 times as many mustang ragtops

Sorry I wasn't exact enough in my description - I have holes in the bits you can't buy. The front bulkhead on the W123 is NLA as is part of the step that is under the back seat. I called it floor pan because it is near as damn it that bit.

You should post up some more pictures of your W123 body kit

Yaaaaawn................................................. Im bored with those,

maybe ill post afew of the newest version with the little rectangular block in the middle smoothed off- most agreed-- They didn dig that detail.

anyhow --it seems that the US GNP is tallied by gross shipping-container shipps leaving the port of Loong beach etc, That grey custom Camaro top went thru there right about the time Desert Storm was occuring on its way to a good guy in Phillip Australia. I sent it to his handler in suburban Kansas city, I still wonder what the $hipping was on the part which i sold for 1200.00 back then

Anyway here's one for the early camaros i did a long time ago, i never liked how it came out but a few of the "silverstate' type maniac's did if you have ever seen the old W123 benz ad of the 300d out in the middle of nowhere with 10 miles of a two lane blacktop crossing the Mojave desert behind it--there was a guy with a really hairie firebird who liked to open it up all the way out there, he loved his because it kept the nose planted.

And a trimmed out vertible hardtop,

and some Carbon/Carbon rod pieces

I consider myself a "maker". I've made the following for my project (617 engine in a 107):
  • Custom catch can
  • Subframe spacers
  • Custom air filter
  • Fiberglass auxiliary fuel tank
  • Olive wood gear shift
  • Stainless door sills
  • Bluetooth gauge set*
  • Air conditioner bracket
  • AN oil cooler hoses
  • Test pipe (temporary cat replacement)
  • Urethane motor mount inserts

Currently working on laser cut climate panel replacement.

* Intake, TIT, Oil, Trans, and Engine Bay temps, Boost and Vacuum displays in a steering wheel mount tablet with HUD display and Navigation
