Will Lower Gas Prices Affect Your Next Car Purchase?
U.S. lowers gasoline price forecast by more than 10 percent - UPI.com
So, instead of a Civic . . an Accord? Instead of an Escape, an Explorer? Maybe a eight instead of a six? |

I think I want an S8. It is more for mass than for gas. Ha, I'm a poet.

Not really - I will likely get a Tesla Model S next time.

No affect on me. I have always tried to buy things that are fuel efficient. My dad bought ramblers and Studebakers which got good fuel economy back in the fifties and sixties when gas was a quarter a gal. and I have pretty much followed him along.

For what it is worth the forcast is for crude oil is to remain down for a few years. Who can believe anything for sure these days though at the same time.
I suspect it is the royal family in Saudi Arabia trying to maintain power as they are a principle objective of the ISIS. Actually they deserve to go but their overall total wealth will make it hard to achieve. Plus there is no doubt that the American army will be on the ground there in substantial numbers if they face serious opposition from the ISIS. I do not care what any politician thinks or says. Any serious problem in Saudi Arabia and there will be a lot of American youths serving there. I half suspect the glut of oil to be released was perhaps already an arranged thing. ISIS has to be carefully watched for growth of the group. Serious further growth and the results are almost going to be automatic. This will make work in north America and things from an economic perspective may look better for a time. Actually they will be worse though in important ways as well I expect. So enjoy the cheaper gas and thank ISIS for it unfortunately as long as it lasts. Do expect their operations to become much more active there as well in the process if they grow. I talked to a younger middle eastern guy this morning and he feels things will never really settle down there in his time. Our gas in Canada has fallen to about 4.60 an America gallon reciently and is expected to drop further. The cost of cheap oil again will damage the western oil sands in Canada that have really helped sustain Canada through the past decade. We try to buy fuel efficient daily driver cars as a family and I see no reason to change this now or later. Last edited by barry12345; 11-14-2014 at 02:41 PM. |

My dad is a used car dealer and powerstrokes won't move but people are buying the hell out of V10s, its amazing how short the memory of the average consumer is.
I daily a OM601 200TD wagon, I'll continue to drive economical cars. However cheaper fuel made for longer trips in the 280SL and 350SL this year.

It gets better fuel economy than a good many cars running solo, and its economy towing is unsurpassed.
I don't daily drive it like those yokels with the huge stacks blowing billows of smoke when taking off.

Hrm. Newest car in the fleet is Darling Wife's 20 year old Miata. We've been tossing around ideas for snow-friendly people haulers for a while, and the only new thing that looks interesting (Mazda CX-5) doesn't look like it's going to be available in a configuration that we'd be happy with (AWD and manual tranny) in the USofA.
So - to answer the OP's question: nope.
