I've gotten those calls telling me my computer had been hacked. Usually it's an East Indian sounding woman, named Debbie, or Julie or something. They're fun to goof on.
The best one ever was a few weeks ago. I got a series of about a dozen voice mails. A machine voice that sounded like it had been made by typing text into the voice feature of a 12 year old Macintosh told me to avoid court action and an IRS lawsuit call 713-287-1232. Caller ID showed the number to be in Tejas, same number showed on CID as was mentioned in the recorded message. They'd called so many times I got curious after evening beverages that I called it back.
I could hear dogs barking in the background and kids playing. A very thick Russian accented man identified himself as "Agent Rudy" with the IRS. He said I was being sued by the Government for 5K dollars and I could avoid further action by paying over the phone.
I led the guy on acting all concerned and why of course let's get this cleared up I'll get my wallet just hold on a minute.... I got another cold one, went out and checked the animals, locked up the henhouse...gone at least 5 minutes. When I came back in he was still on the line.
I said Agent Rudy I've got my credit card here but I have one question first. He said sure. I said do you have brown eyes? He said what difference does it make? I said you've just gotta have brown eyes because you're so full of shlt. There is no way the IRS would hire anybody who barely speaks English who's clearly calling from his back yard. Are those YOUR dogs I hear barking in the background? What's going on, did your kiddie porn website get shut down or something?
The poor guy became quite upset. Started yelling about stupid Americans, told me @@@@ YOU!!! and hung up.

Anyone who believes that the IRS or Microsoft would really cold-call people is overestimating either's organization's level of support by several orders of magnitude.

It would be fun to give those chumps some fake credit card numbers to pass around.

Here's a tool that generates random credit card numbers that pass mathematical verification, but are actually fake, for things like testing online shopping software.
http://www.mobilefish.com/services/credit_card_number_generator/credit_card_number_generator.php

If they just collect the numbers and don't charge them till later, you can poison their database of CC#s with fakes.

I got a call from these guys... I managed to keep them on the line for many hours, call me back multiple times over 2 days... and make them super frustrated.

At one point they were attempting to set a password on my computer. They were using a remote control software and thought the screen was blanked, but I had worked around that. As they were typing in the password I'd type one more letter... he must have tried 15 times to enter that password and it would always error out. Each time he would type slower and slower.... so funny! Then I set the password, and I could tell they were super confused when it asked for the prior password when they tried to change it. I'd also disconnect and reconnect the network so it would make their connection bad, and generally play dumb on the phone.

I also gave them fake credit card numbers, a fake name, a fake address, and a fake western union wire transfer receipt.

In the end I let them know I had duped them. Here's the recording of that call: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/26930986/Scammer/Final%20Call.mp3
