Is this a good deal for a 73 450SE?
Based on ad, car "runs great," beige colored, and is going for $500. Owner is moving and thus needs to sell the car. I couldn't get much information from the owner when I talked to her on the phone. I'm interested in getting it as a work horse, beater, tinkering, mess-around, errand type of car--but something nice and classy. What I really want is one of the older M-B with the big, imposing grille, much classier and visually appealing. But the price of this car seems too good of a deal to pass up.

That engine is deemed indestructible. Why don't you go and see it first? I think in 1973 the car didn't have to go through the US headlights and bumpers.. right?

It had "euro" bumpers but US headlights. That engine requires a valve adjustment every 15K too.

I figure anything that runs and isn't a complete rustbucket is worth $500! Especially a big-engined MB!
Mike ---try to get it for $400! Never hurts to ask! Mike
