Insurance check coming tuesday!!!

Well looks like I'll be getting around $5500 total from insurance to fix the car.

now I'm not sure how much of that will go to actual damage repairs, but I assume somewhere around $2k for the repairs needed if done at my bodyshop because the ins co found more broken suspension bits.

So hopefully I'll have $3500 extra to spend on goodies...

I'll let you all know how it turns out. I am excited so far.

if I do end up with $3500 to spend, looks like I should definately be able to do the bodykit, wheels and sport shocks. then I will be a happy camper.

Alon

I'd dance a jig, but until the check is in my hand I'll refrain.

feels so so. I can sleep more now thank god, but the jacuzzi's everynight help a lot. Its still stiff and I still have pulsating of muscles in my back and shoulder.

But once I go to the doctor, it should all get worked out. At least I haven't had any major headaches either, but have had a mild one... nothing some advil or motrin doesn't fix though.

I have been taking as needed for pain, and it has helped, but I still can't sit for very long without having to stretch.

Before I had to get out and stretch (when taking long car trips) on a regular basis to stop my back froma cting up. Over the years it got better and intervals got longer, but now it seems like its back to more of a frequency. I find myself wiggling in the seat after a bit to get comfortable and adjuyst, especially if stuck in traffic.

But you know strangely enough, I sometimes think I'm more worried about the car than I am about myself. but then I realize its a bunch of metal plastic and rubber and fluids, and I'm flesh and bone, with my own kind of fluids. just like cars, we ourselves are livign machines, so we better treat ourselves witht he same passion we treat our cars. I plan on making sure to get to the gym more often now too, to keep my body in tune.

As you can see it hasn't helped my awkward typing style assist my spelling...

Just out of curiosity, what does the claim do to your insurance premiums? No fault claims typically have a low treshold like $500 after which there will be some kind of surcharge.

Well I don't know if it affects me as it will be the other guys ins co paying mine back. So essentially I get the full amount needed. If it was deemed my fault, then I think the premiums would go up, but I don't think they are going up because the accident was deemed not my fault.

As for the pills, they arent strong, they just work for what I need them.

If i want something stronger, I can get vicodin 500's which are very strong, but I hate taking them, because I end up wanting to take many...

So I try my best to stick to over the counter standard pills like motrin or advil. the motrin are 200mg ibuprofin, and my pharmacist recommmended I take 2.

My dentist usually gives me 800 mg ones instead of things like percaset or vicodin. He knows all to well that if I don't need the heavier stuff, why give it to me.

well my friend owns california collision group on la cienega and florence.

I have another friend at Glasser on washington and national area.

I also have another friend who own a restoration shop behind sports club LA, Lanse Haselrig.

I'm not sure which shop I will end up using, but I've told them I'm paying for it out my own pocket, no insurance, so they have lowballed me on their quotes.

I wouldn't let pauly touch my car, they'll end up replacing tons of stuff that doesn't need to be replaced at all.

Don't be so sure about the premiums not going up!! My wife got hit three times, never her fault but an insurance company we'll call Prudxxtial CANCELLED our preferred status because they said she had a propensity to be involved in accidents. In other words, she was a good target!! My premiums went from $2300 a year to $4000!

Well I don't think they will go up, My insurance company is excellent, and my father has good ties witht he company. Now his I would expect to go up since his is accident prone for at least 1 a year if not more.

I'm just glad my deductable isn't as high as his, he has a ridiculously high one, because of all his accidents, also probably to lower his premiums.

Even if it goes up, it wont go up by that much I would think.

Like I said it will probably go up a little. My dad's ties are that he does work for some of the insurance people, so he is able to egt things done, plus he does PI cases from time to time and is always dealing with insurance.

'm picking up the check tomorrow morning, I can't wait to get the car fixed.

You definitely should demand a new minicooper
as a rental now that they are available in LA.

hehe those are cool as hell.

But.... My rental is the use of my fathers extra car, his rolls royce. My father was gracious enough to offer it to me to use. So I am being forced to drive a rolls around for a few weeks. Oh the shame.. LOL

My father is coming with me to meet up with the insurance adjuster tomorrow to get the check and sign some documents.
