Good for her. My girls put themselves through undergrad and grad school without loans, entirely on scholarships and their own jobs. My son is in 4th year of a 5 year program and so far has cost me car insurance. He has no debt. It's possible, though not easy, for deserving students to graduate debt free without impoverishing parents.

Congratulations to your niece!

I have a niece who is almost two, and the mile stones make me so happy! So I bet you are way ecstatic.

Interesting way to put it. Isn't that 2 words or is it 1 now? I googled and it came up as 2. And we are talking about catholic schools? .

Are you implying that Skid's niece won the Bob Guccione Memorial Scholarship?

Just curious as to the choice of word or words.

More good news: Niece graduated Magna Cum Laude from her particular college of study. A straight 'A' student. #1 in her intern summer class, from among the dozen or so hand picked 3rd year Economics majors from the entire United States.

She bought in to the; "Invest in Yourself" challenge to be successful.

Well, it got put to bed formally last week.

There was a date-certain deadline to respond to the private university law school on the acceptance of the full-ride law school scholarship.

My niece shopped her scholarship to at least two other law schools, one of them Texas A & M University's law school, and was only able to get a 50%-paid scholarship elsewhere.

None were pursued. This university law school is well-high line for her future. (I'm acquainted with several doctors/lawyers and dentists I grew-up with that graduated from there.....) Her parents are pleased with the practical acceptance of that full-scholarship.
