Picked up a mint 1991 300CE

This past weekend I was looking around the Japan import lots here in Dubai and ran across this 1991 W124 300CE. I was taken by its condition so I bought it on the spot. Everything works down to the cruise control and seat-belt extension arms. Manual climate control and cloth seats, no sunroof. I took a look at it on a lift and the front suspension has MB stickers on almost everything, newer MB battery. Someone really loved and took care of this car. 79,xxx km or around 49,000 miles. Paperwork and MOT's to back it up. Will take some better photos later but here it is.

That looks like a really nice find, congratulations. The 124 coupes are nice driving cars.

I don't know why but the overwhelming majority of german cars in Japan are LHD. Have some friends who import in Canada and all the BMWs and mercs they bring in are lhd. And I troll the auctions for stuff I am looking for. I would guess they came in as third party imports when they were new through some importer network.

The LHD is giving more luxury, expensive look for the luxury cars in Japan.

And all new 124, 126, 107, etc. were traded as LHD in Japan thru official dealers.

I paid about $4,500 for it which I think would most likely be market value in this region. Not expensive but not an amazing deal either. I think it was well bought considering it literally needs NOTHING. Zero signs of wear and tear anywhere on the exterior/interior. I'm dropping it next week for the typical fluid changes including a transmission service just for good measure. The A/C works better than my 2009 BMW M5. I will bring this car and most likely a 1994 E500 Ltd. back to the stats with me when / if I move back.
