The Peach People Care!

Been sick from the fifth of January, off and mostly on with various things, including several hospitalizations, plus trying to maintain a good grade in my Structural Engineering class. Now almost back to normal, been long enough feel going to stay that way, and done with the class. So, I am back and still trying to sell the parts of the '79 TD; most sales fell through and didn't have the energy to chase them down.

B.T.W., any tips for selling auto parts?

What is your medical prognosis? Are you taking prescription medications?

CL for selling anything.

To sell your parts you could put an ad on Craigslist that you are parting the car out. And then sell it out to the bare walls.

Be ready to sell the best bits first and to sell them cheap because you will likely be selling them to people who will sell them on Ebay.

You should also scan Ebay for what types of parts are selling off of your car and for how much and then sell them yourself if possible. You health may not allow this since you would have to pull the parts, pack them, etc.

Or offer the whole thing up as a parts car and get rid of it all at once.

Sell the small stuff on ebay, chrome strips, electrical switches, relays, turn signals, tail lights, and interior bits. List the other stuff on craigslist, put a date in the add, will scrap on date.... and do it.

Sorry to hear you've been sick. Good luck getting square in your class, don't be afraid to ask for an incomplete in order to complete the class.

Plenty of good suggestions above on the selling of parts.

Agreed. I take them all the time in order to avoid getting sick. Seems to help.

The thought of parting out a car. Endless hours pulling greasy bits off a vehicle and then dealing with Craigslist lowlifes. I'd rather eat lint.
I believe unless you need to make a killing I'd sell it all of a piece. You'd do better on Craigslist, but you could call a yard that specializes in imports and have them give you a haul-away bid. Might surprise you what they'd offer, and you wouldn't be left having to pay somebody to haul off the rusted hulk after its bones are picked clean.

Well since we are talking about an old Mercedes-- ^^^^^^^
this, the crowd will damn near cut off their little finger rather than pry open their wallets.

other vehicles --like say late model 2000 up chevy trucks its more fesable to make it worth the trouble.

An old car getting disposed of is a trivial thing in comparison to getting your education completed. Especially geting your health totally back if possible. Prioritize your needs.

People do care about other people if they have any soul or substance. Every man just for himself would be a miserable existance. You have youth and lots of time to learn the important things in life.
