When the team sends the command, the lasers do their work: They suck the delicate quantum information out of atom A and send it into atom B. From the perspective of physics, it's the same as teleporting atom A across the table.

Mmmm seems a bit dicey. Was atom B some close host for the makeup of atom A? What delicate quantum information exists in an atom beyond how many neutrons, electrons, and protons are present?

That was back in the 1500s. Information has increased probably in some geometric fashion so back when I was a kid, many things we take for granted couldn't be imagined today. So this might just be a start of something good. Unless we blow ourselves up before we find it.
