Is anyone here successfully running the C3 clone? If it's an ok discussion on here...

I am interested in trying to understand how it works.

I have found a laptop with a serial port already to use.

Now my question is this -- there are multiple versions out there. 2006 2010 2014 software version. Is the software version built into the hardware or does it come from the program installed on the hard drive?

Basically I saw some that offered no hard drive and some had out of date software. Could I just simply get a newer hard drive image or would it require buying new hardware for future update ability.
