Cartalk classic

Today when driving back from Nebraska the car talk guys were talking. Tommy said if you rebuilt a carburetor enough times eventually you'd have two. Then they laughed hysterically....me too. Then they went on and said it happens with transmissions too...and so forth until it was run into the ground!

Oh well.

Still enjoyed.

RIP Tommy

My uncle was into GTO's but when it came to GM's idea of carburation he said the first thing you had to do was take it off and smash it until flat with sledge hammer and then go buy a good one

The original hot rod carbee'z are once again the favorite tinkering toy of the nostalga crowd!

Im currently working on a modular inline manifold pattern for 2, 3, -even 5 could bolt on if someone wanted to try.
the coolest thing about them are the 6 different sizes,
two small ones--real hard to get, are 306 cfm.
two of the #2 size are 333 cfm
the big cahoona's ( holley bug spray) are 300 cfm each

I believe it was proven to be a hoax but I had to pull over from laughing so hard the first time I heard "Max and the Schnauzer". It's probably still out there somewhere.

I remember using a cassette deck to record the shows on FM and then passing them around to co-workers.

After a lot of tries I finally was able to get a rebuilt Quadrajet to work. Not work well but work at all.

I found that the more you rebuilt them the more 'out of round' the bodies would become. But I never went to anything else because I am an 'original' kind of car owner.

When I adapted and modified my BMW Bavaria to use a European manifold and a Qjet I became intimately familiar with them. I modified and adapted the Qjet too.

A marvelous design that lacked basic quality....though it was probably better quality than the solex carbs it replaced on the beemer. ...well not really.

I won't allow a carbureted vehicle to be worked on by anybody under about 60 years old. Kids are clueless about carbs.
