Autosock
We are thinking about a road trip to Taos in Feb. I hate putting chains on and have been looking for reasonably priced alternatives and stumbled upon these.
Autosock Does anyone here have any experience with them? The reviews seem to be good as long as your expectations are reasonable. I do not anticipate needing them often so spending a fortune on something seems silly. Thanks |
Looks promising. I have no experience with them, so no testimony, but in theory they look really effective.
Be safe on your trip. It's beautiful up there. |
I would also look into snow treads as another chain alternative...

What about cable chains? They aren't as much of a PITA to put on. Those do look pretty slick though, and I hate putting on chains as well. Perpetually cold hands.

I skied in Taos back in college (1980's) and loved it. Back then it was a small, quaint and out of the way resort. I suspect that may have changed now. Hopefully it still has some of the charm I remember.
I was hoping to avoid chains/cables as they are a pain and if they come loose some how they can beat the crap out of the car and if that happens, Ms Mash will be royally pissed off at me and that will mean my life will be ....... Crap. I have a few months so I will see what else I find. |
