Wage Statistics for 2014 - unemployment numbers are BS

https://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/netcomp.cgi?year=2014

Real numbers are hard to find when you talk about paychecks in the US.

This is one of the reasons people lean toward conspiracy theories. They recognize that they are fed BS on a regular basis. Plenty of BS, not as much compensation.

How Public-Sector Employment Fared in 2013

This gives an idea of government payrolls compared to private payrolls. Important since gov payrolls contribute to gov debt and are not economic gains.

So you think there is more unemployment than is being reported?

I believe it far exceeds the official rate. Based on if your unemployment benefits have expired you are no longer a statistic but remain a reality. You can also be not factored in if you have not worked somewhere previously first.

So the heavy real numbers in the young attempting to start out are not incorporated either. In most of north America I believe this to be signifigant.

Plus there is a lot of under employment that is not incorporated properly. This is in my Canadian area of north America but feel it is widespread to some extent in almost all of north America.

Once any individual is drawing support from a government source other than unemployment insurance. They are also not considered in the statistics. Although it is reasonable many of them would rather be working. So in my mind a percentage of them are also unemployed.

So in general I have no real ideal of what the true unemployed percentage picture is like. Other than the official rate is not accurate. At best it just shows a trend in my mind.

Tragically historically the real rate has been unusually high just before wars. Not all perhaps but enough of them to draw attention itself

When at home I am all too aware that there is so much farmland that sits unused now around me. At the same time with costs to farm it and the corporate controls on the buying chain a small farmer would almost have to be Houdi to make a go of it. All these smaller farms where in operation thirty years ago but for all practical purposes none now.

I almost feel it is wrong as there should be some way at least some of the unemployed should be able to still farm. Plus receive a price for their output that gives some profit.

In fact I was a little suprised to hear that a very high percentage of all farm related things are controlled by two almost unknown international companies. Those companies are also probably not north American based.

One wonders just how rich they really are. Plus how they have managed to stay in the background or shadows and still do. In fact they remain almost invisible and seemingly want to remain that way.

Depends on the study. There is a difference between "unemployed" and "receiving unemployment". I know a great many people who have exhausted their unemployment benefits after being laid off. You're only eligible for 26 weeks which is a decent amount of time but sometimes not enough to bridge the gap. Then there are also requirements (proving that you are actively looking for work, etc). When I got laid off I did freelance/consulting work and had enough savings to cover my ass for a bit but a lot of people don't have that cushion.
